Spine Related Pain
Common pains and conditions include herniated discs, degenerative disc diseases, and facet joint arthritis, all of which can lead to spinal stenosis, "pinching of the nerves" and cause sciatica.
We put a lot of strain on the spine, from the neck to the lower back; as the body ages, bones weaken and thin, increasing risk for compression fractures of the vertebral bodies. Car accidents are also common causes to the damaging to the spine, leading to the neck and lower back.
Neck Pain (Cervical)
Underlying cervical (neck) spine pathology can lead to pain in the head, shoulders, arms and fingers. This is why it's important to find out why you are having the pain and treat the underlying cause of the pain. Symptoms may include headache, shoulder pain, tingling/numbness and shooting pain in the arm and fingers, and/or inability to hold a cup or open a jar.
Back Pain (Lumbar)
Underlying lumbar (lower back) spine pathology can lead to pain in the lower back, buttock, or anywhere in the legs along with tingling/numbness into the toes. Patients may loose their balance, unable to walk for long distance or find themselves leaning on a shopping cart at the grocery store.
Joint Related Pain
Although there is no cure for arthritis, there are many treatments available to help you manage pain and avoid surgery.
Shoulder
Clicking sound or inability to lift your arm above your head maybe symptoms of shoulder joint problem. This is usually caused by osteoarthritis or rotator cuff tear.
Potential problem: Having a hard time shaving, putting shirt on, combing hair.
Hip
“Wear and tear” of the hip joints commonly lead to pain with standing/walking. This pain is usually in the groin and is better with rest. A hip joint steroid injection can give you relief if you are not ready for hip replacement surgery.
Potential problem: Pain in the hip from sitting to standing.
Knee
There are many causes of knee pain including arthritis, sprain, ligament tear, fractures, and dislocation. We offer “gel” injections and genicular nerve radiofrequency ablation to provide pain relief so you can stay active.
